About Us

More Than a Tournament
Since 2015, the Kigezi Women Football Tournament has brought together women's teams from across the Kigezi region for a season of competitive, community-run football. Eleven years on, what started as a handful of local sides has grown into one of the region's most anticipated annual events.
Beyond the matches, the tournament creates space for women and girls to build skills, confidence, and lasting friendships — proving that football belongs to everyone, on and off the pitch.
The ball is round, but its impact is boundless. It's more than a game — it's a tool for changing lives, mindsets, and communities.
Dianah NkamusiimaFounder, Kigezi Women Football TournamentA Personal Message From Our Founder

— Dianah Nkamusiima, FounderI started the Kigezi Women Football Tournament because I know what it feels like to be told you're not enough. After losing my father early, my future looked limited.
But sports, especially football and netball, changed everything. They gave me confidence, self-worth, and a purpose to help other girls like me and pay it forward.
Why football? Because the ball is round, but its impact is boundless. Through football we build discipline, sisterhood, education, health, life skills, reduce teenage pregnancy and early marriage, and acquire more opportunities. It's more than a game — it's a tool for changing lives, mindsets, communities and the world.
Dibril FC Academy
Dibril FC is the model academy for the Kigezi Women Football Tournament, mothered under the Nkamusiima Dianah Foundation. It's the core development arm where we nurture talent, character, and leadership for girls and boys.
Dibril FC Academy is the model training center of the Kigezi Women Football Tournament. We develop young women footballers with skill, discipline, and education at the center. As an academy mothered by the Nkamusiima Dianah Foundation, our mission is to turn potential into purpose — on and off the pitch using the power of the ball.
